When co directors Neil Roberts and Lee Traynor set the company up four years ago, the ethos of the company was to offer professional no nonsense advice on hot tub ownership.
Through exhausting research on manufacturers throughout the world, they came to the unquestionable conclusion that the Americans were by far and away, the best designers and builders of the spa. The main reason for this was firstly, that they had been producing the hot tub for longer than anyone else, as the concept was invented there. Secondly, the extreme conditions at both ends of the scale in the American climate ensured that the way in which the hot tub was built. They took into consideration the extreme cold conditions of minus 30 degrees and ensured that the insulation of the tub, and the power of the heater guaranteed that the water temperature remained at a constant no matter what the weather conditions are.
At the other end of the scale, the soaring temperatures of the summers in America can easily reach the mid 40’s, which expands the tubs shell considerably, and one can imagine the stresses placed upon the structure as it expands and contracts constantly. The hot tubs shells are constructed with this in mind and many of the manufacturers subsequently guarantee their shells for a lifetime against leakage, such is their confidence in the build quality. These factors, along with the ability to source an excellent range of products to cover all budgets and individual needs, justified the decision by the partners, to only import hot tubs and garden spas from the USA.
The name of the company was therefore an obvious choice. The American Hot Tub Company was born. “We work closely with our colleagues in the USA to produce a range of products which are designed specifically for the UK market.” Stated Lee. “We have a range of hot tubs which differ in size, from four seater tubs to the huge and ever popular swim spas, and every size in between The hot tubs come in a choice of colours from the traditional to the contemporary and a choice of skirting colours to compliment the shell of the spa.”
