what our customers say about our hot tubs

  • Richard H. Hawes.

I came across the American Hot Tub Company at a charity auction where the lads had offered a free hot tub for a month in the proceedings. Whilst I lost on the bid to a farmer who was hell bent on having everything on offer that night I did end up speaking to Neil from the company and liked the cut of his jib!

I had been considering a tub for a chalet I rent out in France, and had looked at the tubs over there. They were expensive but I didn’t think that a UK company would or could supply me. I was wrong. After speaking to Neil, I found out that they had delivered to Austria, some remote Scottish Islands, France and Germany, and informed me that they were delivering two tubs in three weeks or so into France. I went to the showroom that week and after working out the distance, and the logistics, they quoted me a brilliant price. Its now been in the Chalet for eight months. It is superb. Thanks guys. Now ordered one for my home here in the Dales. Excellent Service!

  • Peter Sugden. Keighley.

During the past ten years, I have spent fortunes on different forms of therapy after being involved in a horrific car accident where I almost didn’t make it. I was in hospital for around eight months and even after being discharged the pain was relentless. I visited numerous therapists and was on a concoction of drugs to help alleviate the pain.

In my constant search for the answer to this predicament, I surfed the internet the find out what alternative methods were out there. I read up on hydrotherapy treatment, which sounded ideal, as I did get pain relief from long soaks in the bath, but the drop in temperature in the bath eventually became counter productive. This however, reminded me of an editorial I had read regarding a locally based hot tub importer, who were creating quite a splash!!

That weekend I called in to the American Hot Tub Company, where I had an informal chat about my injuries and the problems I was encountering. Lee, one of the owners of the company told me that he had got into the hot tub scene after having a bad motorcycle accident some years ago, and that his back injury had stopped him from sleeping since. He had read in a health magazine that the Hot Tub could help, and after purchasing his first tub, its regular use resulted in the pain significantly subsiding and he was actually able to sleep much better.

I was invited to book a wet test, in total privacy to find out first hand how the hot tub could benefit me. Lee listened to where I suffered the bulk of the pain, which was in my neck, shoulders and back, as well as my ankles, and I was shown the 'Omni' Hot Tub, which had two high pressure neck jets, and a combination of different jets directed all over the back area. The hot tub also had a foot dome which massaged the feet and ankles, so it looked like the one for me. I tried this tub two days later in my booked wet test, and got out of the tub 40 minutes later feeling like a different person.

That night I slept like a baby, and even the day after, definitely still felt the benefit. My mind was made up and I went to place my order. The installation team put a concrete base down for me and delivered the tub shortly afterwards. The tub has been in constant use ever since. I am very grateful to everyone at the American Hot Tub Company for their patience and understanding and excellent advice. They really listened to what I wanted, as opposed to what they wanted to sell me, and the big surprise is that they advised me to get one of the tubs which was cheaper than the one I originally set my eyes on. That’s rare in this day and age. I would recommend them to everyone, and have had friends buy hot tubs from them for different reasons, and everyone is delighted. I keep in touch with the team for my chemicals and they have advised me to use 'Aquagarde' chemicals as I have very sensitive skin. Great advice. Have a look on the website. Thanks again

  • Frank Mercurio. Sheffield.

I work very long hours, often travelling in excess of 1000 miles per week, and commute regularly from my home in Sheffield to the office in London. When other more sane people are enjoying a pint in the evening or chilling out in front of the TV, I am usually stuck in traffic on the motorway. The mobile never stops, and I noticed that even when I did get home, my brain just wouldn’t shut off and my stress levels wouldn’t subside. My sleep patterns were all over the place, as I went over the day’s business. By the end of the week, I was just shattered.

I had read about the benefits of hydrotherapy and did some research on the Internet, where I came across The American Hot Tub Company. The information on the website persuaded me to pick up the phone and speak to one of their team, and was I really impressed by the levels of knowledge. They had a very friendly approach, and seemed to really understand what I was looking for. I received an information pack in the post shortly afterwards which reiterated my conversation from the previous day with the company, and felt very comfortable dealing with this company.

Knowing that the purchase of a hot tub was a major investment for me, I travelled up to the American Hot Tub Company head office where I was surprised to see the scale of the company. A great showroom, with such a choice of hot tubs, and working models too! The staff were informative and friendly but didn’t try to hard sell. I was there for well over three hours and at the end of this time was absolutely sure of the hot tub I wanted. We shook hands on the deal, and I was showed the actual tub I was having in the large warehouse.

One week later, I took delivery of my 'Passion' Hot Tub which was actually crane lifted into position over the house. They were right on time, were smart and efficient, and a few hours later, I had my very own hydrotherapy unit working its way up to temperature.

That night my wife and I sampled for the first time our own hot tub and it was absolutely fantastic. I can say with hand on heart that this was one of the most pleasant buying experiences I have ever had. I use the tub every day, and would never be without it. My ability to relax and recharge my batteries have returned, and I sleep so much better. I was delighted to write this referral for the team at The American Hot Tub Company. If you are in the market for a tub, speak to these people. Its worth it!

  • Francis Collins. Rochdale.

In May 2006 I purchased a six seater hot tub from The American Hot Tub Company in Skipton. The tub was a top of the range one with lighting, a built in TV, DVD and CD player – possibly the rolls Royce of tubs.

My initial concerns at the purchase were would I use it enough to justify the outlay? Would the novelty wear off after a few weeks? Would it prove to be a white elephant? How complicated will it be to maintain?

Undeterred, and backing my gut instinct, I pressed on and built a gazebo in the place of a rockery in my back garden. The lads at The American Hot Tub Company were always on hand to offer design advice and installation advice which ended up with them arranging to airlift the tub into my back garden.

Once in situ, they were on hand to oversee the filling of the tub and getting me started with instructions and maintenance products, so that I was left with no headaches, or indeed left in a situation where I would have to sink or swim.

One month on, I write this testimonial and can answer the questions I asked myself at the outset.

I use it for half a hour every evening. The worse the weather, the more I enjoy it. Even allowing for the fact I might not be a full shilling, the surreal nature of sitting in your tub at 10.30pm whilst it is raining and blowing a gale is surprisingly gratifying. Especially so with a glass of wine, and a favourite CD echoing through the darkness amongst the bubbles and steam, which are only pierced gently by the lights. It’s not quite as gratifying getting out and legging it for the sanctuary of your kitchen, but the experience is totally awesome. I consider one use a day justification for the outlay.

The novelty has not worn off. Indeed, the longer a day goes on the more I find myself looking forward to my evening dip. Colleagues enviously look at me as I announce I’m off to unwind in my tub, and a surprising number of people offer to join me!

So far, it has not been a white elephant. Only history can be the judge to this, but I imagine it will never be a white elephant.

It’s surprisingly easy, cheap and quick. I spend about 2 minutes a day on average looking after it and quite enjoy making sure it’s in good condition. Think how you were with your first car and that is likely to be the way you are with your first tub.

There have also been some excellent benefits alongside the enjoyment of a tub. I defy anybody not to unwind fully in 30 minutes in a tub. I have a relatively stressful job and have found my tub a great tool to help me put the nuances of any typical working day into perspective. There is also the added benefit of better sleep. 30 minutes in your tub at 10.30 will relax the body, and more importantly, the brain to such de-stressed levels that you will find you sleep far more soundly at night. This is why anybody will always continue to use their tub.

A couple of notes of advice I would suggest to potential purchasers are:
    1. Don’t skimp. Buy one you like and try and recreate your living room outdoors. Also, buy one with lights. They are far better.
    2. If you lead a busy life and are worried you may not find the time, trust me, you will if you buy one where you can listen to music or watch TV, although some people might be happy enough doing The Sun crossword with a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale.
    3. Your tub will become the talking point of the town. Folk will stop you in the street to talk about it. If you cannot handle the fame, don’t buy one!

Finally, a word for Neil and Lee at The American Hot Tub Company. They are always on the other end of the phone to provide advice and assistance with a good manner. In this day and age Customer Relations is an important commodity, and their helpful, enthusiastic nature is appreciated by all their customers I would imagine.

If any would be tub purchaser wants to see or speak to me regarding my tub, I am happy to give a frank opinion.
